Skadi loved the cold mountains and snow-covered landscapes, while Njord preferred the sea and its waves. They attempted to split their time between each other's worlds, but ultimately, they went their separate ways. Skadi remained in the mountains, enjoying hunting and the harsh beauty of winter. She is often associated with skiing and archery, as she is a skilled huntress and a protector of those who live in harsh, cold environments. In some myths, she was also married to the jötunn Ullr, another god of hunting and winter.

Her name has been linked to Scandinavia, suggesting that she may have once been a more significant figure in Norse belief. Skadi represents the untamed and unpredictable nature, strength, independence, and the beauty of winter. She also symbolizes the power of vengeance and the ability to forge one's own path despite great loss.
